Mouth Cancer Action Month aims to make people aware of the symptoms to help catch the disease early enough to receive treatment and for quicker recovery time.
As well as teaching risk factors encouraging us to make changes to our lifestyles.

Everything we've been taught, during this November campaign, are pointers we need to action all year round including the 45 second check.

We'll be popping up reminders to help keep us all on the right track.

Join The Big Family Brush-Up

It's the final few days of the Big Family Brush-Up. If it was difficult to find time and commit to the challenge it's never too late to take part. 

The Summer Holidays have arrived which is a great excuse to spend a little extra time and start a new teeth cleaning regime. 

The Big Family Brush-Up is a challenge for families to really focus on their tooth brushing habits for a four week period, ensuring you and your children are brushing twice day, thoroughly for two minutes. 

To join the challenge all you need to do is fill in the brushing charts every morning and night for four weeks.

The Knitting Dentist!

The Knitting Dental Crew Jane and Nicola

Nicola Taaffe and Dental Hygienist Jane took to the knitting needles recently creating gorgeous little chicks to help raise money for Velindre Cancer Centre here in Cardiff. The ladies knitted at every opportunity. The chicks went on sale at the practice and also at the centre itself.

The lades were really thrilled to be given the final total £333.

Cardiff Dentist New Opening Times!

New Extended Hours

Another change occurring to Nicola Taaffe @ West Grove during 2017 are our new opening times! 

Due to our patients busy lifestyles, family commitments, work commitments and everything else in between, there are never enough hours in the day.

Our patients are our priority and to help cater, we have extended our opening times. We're now open Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm.

Look out for the new orange banner advertising our new hours.

Direct Access

1st May 2013 the General Dental Council (GDC) changed legislation, allowing patients to receive dental hygiene appointments called Direct Access without the prior requirement to be seen by the dentist. 

You don't need to be registered with the practice, in fact you could be registered with a different dental surgery and still make a Direct Access appointment with us!

The dental hygiene appointment allows the Hygienist to thoroughly scale your teeth and remove any staining that cannot be removed by brushing alone, that may be caused by smoking, red wine, coffee and tea. Many people book this treatment for a special occasion (wedding, celebration, holiday).

During the appointment you'll be given oral hygiene advice and advised on the prevention of gum disease.
